Talking to reporters here, he said on the other hand the NDA was approaching the people projecting the progress made by the country in various fields during the last five years of the coalition's rule.

On DMK chief Karunanidhi's claim on the 'active participation' of late Murasoli Maran at the WTO meet 'which raised the stature of the country at the world level' and citing it as an example of the DMK's good work, Naidu said Maran was speaking at the meeting not on behalf of his ideas but on behalf of the ideas and policies of the NDA Government.

The draft of the speach was decided with the consent of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the NDA, he said.

He claimed that the BJP manifesto included several welfare schemes for the poor, weaker sections and the farmers.

He expressed confidence that the issues relating to Ayodhya would certainly be solved and efforts to find a solution to the vexed issue was still continuing.
