Mulayam distributes unemployment dole

CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav has charged the opposition with indulging in politics of jealousy. He said opposition leaders were frustrated in the absence of issues and levelling baseless allegations against his government.
Addressing a meeting before distributing cheques under the Kanya Vidya Dhan and Unemployment Allowance schemes, Yadav said the Opposition leaders who were making a hue and cry over his step, must know that it was public money being distributed among the people for a noble cause. “Yeh kisi ke baap ka paisa nahin hai,” he said, adding these schemes were mentioned in Samajwadi Party’s election manifesto. “We keep our promises and are determined to boost the morale of poor and the hapless,” he asserted.
Enumerating his government’s achievements, the Chief Minister said a sum of over Rs 1100 crore had so far been given to girls and youths for their uplift and if he returned to power, the amount of the unemployment allowance would be fixed at Rs 1000.
Claiming that the SP had been striving for a change in social, economic life and the system, he said his government was determined to promote education among women. Expressing concern over the decline in sex ratio, he said he would leave no stone unturned for giving due respect to women in the society.

Taking a dig at the Congress, the CM said it would not be able to form a government at the Centre on its own. Besides, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party too was without any issue as the mandir-masjid issue had died down.
“Now only the issues of education and development will work and we are determined to focus on them,” he added.
He alleged all political forces had aligned to oppose him but if his policies were right, he would continue to get people’s support.
The CM said he would hold talks with Naxalites and try to bring them into the mainstream. In this regard, he said he would go to the Naxal-infested areas in the first week of December.
Wishing a good career and future to the beneficiaries of the two schemes, he reiterated that they should succeed in different fields assuming Mulayam Singh Yadav, NC Bajpai and Bua Singh as their role models in politics, administration and police services respectively.
