Opposition parties led by AIADMK on Wednesday staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly, alleging malpractices in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

Soon after Speaker Avudaiappan made obituary references, AIADMK members sought to raise the issue and levelled a series of allegations against the government regarding conduct of the Lok Sabha polls.
As the speaker ordered expunction of their remarks, AIADMK members led by party whip K Sangottian and deputy leader of Opposition O Pannerselvam walked out of the House along with their party members.
After this AIADMK allies PMK, MDMK and Left parties also sought to raise the issue. They also subsequently staged a walkout after Speaker refused permission.
On the opening day of the Budget session today, tributes were paid to 11 former members who died during the intersession period.
