Mishra said that the unit had maintained quality and credibility of the products as of date. He said that Itarsi Ordnance unit had supplied various products to foreign countries including Africa and was getting orders from other countries as well.

Mishra said that the workload at the unit was likely to increase in 3-4 months. A proposal to manufacture new products worth Rs 130 crores is under process that would ensure more employment opportunities and proper utilization of facilities available in the unit, he added.

Mishra had earlier served as General Manager at Itarsi unit and during his tenure the unit was awarded ISO and Peacock certificates. The arms manufactured by Ordnance factory have been used not only by the Army but also by state police forces and other armed forces, he added.
