There is a tremendous opportunity cost associated with remaining disorganised. Every misplaced message or task left unaccomplished has a cost. You might be known as someone who doesn't return phone calls (inconsiderate) or someone who is consistently late for meetings (undependable). These labels can tarnish your business and personal relationships.

In fact, your office desk speaks volumes about your working patter. A cluttered desk, piled with scribbled notes and backlogged files, screams disorganisation. How can clients entrust you with their businesses if you can't be trusted to handle the items on your desk?

And how can a co-worker rely on you if you have proven yourself unreliable in other, seemingly innocuous situations? The answer is simple: They can't. That’s because the disorganised person constantly reacts to what others throw his way, and hence has no little time to go after more business.

He is constantly on the defensive. Meanwhile, the organised worker handles his schedule in such a way that he has time to make new contacts, develop relationships and expand his horizons. Here area few tips that will help you to become more organised:

Organised people are proactive and seize opportunities. Disorganised people are reactive and can never climb out of their self-dug holes.
