In the busy middle lane of Khan Market, sits Soy, a two-storeyed Chinese-Thai restaurant, which instantly catches your attention with its big red signboard. On climbing the flight of stairs ahead, I was welcomed by warm dim-lit oriental decor, with quaint artifacts, potted plants, a live grill station and a mix of high and low seating. I found a table in this area buzzing with people at dinner time. But if you like to dine in the outdoor enjoying the cool breeze, there is a lovely garden on the terrace.

Ready to place the order, I flipped through the colourful, elaborate menu and asked for a Strawberry Mojito, zingy with fresh sweet-sour strawberries. Lava Pava, a refreshing peachy-orangey beverage is also a good choice. Soup lovers, however, can try the coconut-based Curry Laksa. I paired my mojito with Tangy Chicken Salad, which was fresh, and crunchy Wasabi Prawns. The staff suggested I try the Crispy Red Snapper in Spicy Tangy Thai sauce that had the perfect balance of spices. Come to dumplings and Soy offers quite a variety. I tried the BBQ Chicken, Pak Choy and Water Chestnut ones, which were bite-sized and good in taste. For main course, I went for Sticky Rice with Vegetable Thai Green Curry- smooth, fragrant and mildly spiced.
