In a new turn to the controversy over wonder boy Budhia Singh's marathon exploits, Orissa government on Tuesday deferred its decision to restrain him from running long distance again but his coach threatened to move high court against those involved in the boy's medical test whose report opposed the child's repeating the feat.

After the report of the government-constituted medical board, which examined the boy on May five, felt Budhia should not be made to run long distance, his coach Biranchi Das took him to the local Hi-tech Medical College where he was examined after which its cardiologist described the report of the medical board on the child as "quite premature".

"My department has discussed the medical reports of the boy. Since secretaries of law and home departments were not available to give their opinion, we are deferring our decision," Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Pramila Mallick told reporters here.

The medical board will come out with a final report after the MRI scan and dope test on the boy were conducted. Budhia's coach Biranchi Das has opposed it.

He claimed Budhia was dragged out and taken in a police jeep to the government-run Capital Hospital here for the tests on May 5. "It was a criminal act. How did the doctors give their consent to take the child in this manner? At the time of test, Budhia was not a normal child due to the spate of events which unfolded around him."

He said "despite such apprehensions, doctors went ahead with the tests. I even doubt their credibility as they acted as per the government's whims."
