Orissa MLA gets threat call, seeks protection

Independent MLA George Tirkey today sought police protection in the Orissa assembly and claimed that he had received a threat call from a local industrialist.

Tirkey, a prominent trade union leader and MLA from Biramitrapur assembly seat in Sundargarh district, said, "I have received a threat call from a proprietor of a steel industry based in the district."

The MLA said the owner had threatened to eliminate him.
