Addressing election rallies in Mohammadabad in Ghazipur in favour of BJP candidate Alka Rai, the JD (U) leader highlighted the failures of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government during its two-year rule in the state.

Yadav accused the Samajwadi Party government of allowing the criminals to rule the roost due to which common people were feeling insecure in the state. Citing the instance of BJP legislator Krishnanand Rai’s murder, Yadav criticised the government for not allowing an impartial probe into his murder.

He said the two Ansaris—Mukhtar Ansari and Afzal Ansarii- presently lodged in jail in connection with this murder were die hard supporters of the Samajwadi Party.

Yadav addressed two different rallies in support of the BJP candidate and appealed to the people to ensure the victory of the widow of Krishnanad Rai which he said would sound a warning to the Samajwadi Party government.

The official BJP leaders—- former UP CM Kalyan Singh and Kalraj Mishra are scheduled to address election rallies in Mohammadabad on Saturday. BJP president Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav are also scheduled to address election rallies on February 13 and 14 respectively.
