With electricity, too, on the blink, and no diesel for gensets, they could not use their electric hot plates and microwaves either.

“We had to walk down to the market for our morning tea. I had to take half a day’s leave due to this problem,” said Pankaj Roy, a resident. People had no option but to depend on expensive restaurant food.
