Prior to it, thousands of workers gathered at Yaadgar-e-Shahjahani Park to attend public meeting of the AITUC. Giving a clarion call to the gathering to change the State Government and protect one’s ‘ right to live’, Dasgupta, MP asked them to fight for their rights.

He said both the UPA Government at the Centre and BJP Government in MP had failed miserably to redress the pressing issues related directly to the poor. He accused the UPA of following the policies of the previous NDA Government.
