Over 14,700 polling stations sensitive

Ahmedabad has the maximum number of sensitive polling booths, followed by Surat, an official release from the Gujarat election office declared.

The Gujarat election office has identified as many as 14,707 polling booths in the state as "sensitive" and directed the police administration to make special security arrangements for free and fair polls on December 12.

Ahmedabad has the maximum number of sensitive polling booths (2110), followed by Surat (1498), an official release said here on Monday night.

The other polling stations which have been identified as sensitive are in Vadodara, Kutch, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandhar,, Junagad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Dahod, Panchmahals, Kheda Anand, Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, Valsad and Dag.

The district and police administrations have been directed to make full proof security arrangements at the sensitive booths so that people can exercise their franchise without fear, the release added.
