The postal authorities seem to be disinterested in putting a check on the malpractice prevailing right under the nose of the administration.
The customers are being fleeced at the parking stands of Allahabad Head Post Office (HPO) and Kutchery Post Office, but the officials concerned have not yet taken any measure, in this regard. The officials are also unaware of the terms and conditions of the vehicle stand contract.The lax attitude of the officials is causing inconvenience to the customers and the visitors at these post offices.
Insiders claim that the persons deployed by contractor at the stands are charging the customers at their will.
The situation has become even worse as the officials concerned have not got installed the rate board at the stands. Not only this, the token issued by the stand staff are without any details. The amount to be charged for parking the vehicle is not printed on the token which encourages the persons at the stand to over charge the visitors.
However, on being contacted to comment on the issue, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices (SSP) Parimal Sinha feigned ignorance over the matter and said, "I have no idea in this regard."Senior Post Master Allahabad Head Post Office said, "Presently I am not aware of the situation but I will soon take action.
