The autopsy was conducted at the Safdarjung Hospital, a day after Padmapriya (33) was found hanging in Kshama Apartments in Dwarka, south-west Delhi.

"We have conducted the post-mortem and are awaiting for the report," a senior police official said.

Bhatt, the Udupi MLA, has arrived in the capital along with Karnataka Home Minister VS Acharya.

Padmapriya, a mother of two children, was missing from Karnataka's Udupi district since June 10.

The body was discovered after Karnataka Police on specific information came to Delhi and went to the apartment along with Delhi Police officers.

They broke open the door to find Padmapriya hanging in one of the rooms after no body responded to the doorbell. The TV set was on and running a Kannada channel.

Padmapriya had gone missing as she left her house in Udupi on the morning of June 10 and the car in which she was travelling was found abandoned near Kunjarugir hills. The police found the car reportedly driven by her on June 13.
