In an effort to bring on canvas Sachin Tendulkar's feat of crossing the 18,000-run mark in one-day international (ODI) cricket, Gurgaon-based artist Sanjay Mehta has come up with a series of nine digital paintings.
Each portrait symbolises 2,000 runs, and has a special colour depicting the nature and style of Tendulkar.
The exhibition 'Sachin Ke Nau Rang' is being held at Studio Art, C-Block, Sushant Lok 1. It is open for public viewing daily from 10am and 1pm, and 5pm and 7pm. It ends on April 9. The set of nine paintings is worth R1 lakh.
The different hues of the paintings are red, yellow and brown, to name a few. While red represents the vigour and heat that Sachin reflects on the pitch, yellow represents his rise in fame and success.
Brown represents selflessness and down-to-earth nature, while sap yellow depicts his tricks and shots on the field.
"The response has been good. State Bank of India and Axis Bank are my clients; they have asked about the paintings for their new branches," said Mehta.
"This series is part of the main exhibition to be held in June at Mandi House," Mehta added.

{{/usCountry}}Sachin reached the milestone during the World Cup 2011 quarterfinal match against Australia on March 24 in Ahmedabad.
As for the other hues, green reflects Tendulkar’s peace-loving nature and true sportsperson’s spirit. Blue depicts his depth of expertise and mastery of the game.
Deep brown shows his rustiness and wit, and orange shows his youth and freshness in strokes and bowling. So far the event has attracted a large crowd that loves art, and more are likely to see it.
