A BSF official said, "Pakistan rangers fired again at BSF boder out-post in Arnia area of RS Pura tehsil along the IB on Thursday night". The official added that the firing continued for some time.

However, the residents said Pakistan had started firing around 11 am on Thursday and it continued intermittently till early Friday morning. The houses along the border area, which though fall inside the fence, were also hit by the bullets.
A BSF trooper had died and six others, including three security personnel, were injured in the firing on Wednesday.

According to sources, the recent situation was because of Pakistan's refusal to cut down the habitation along the posts. Sources added that the BSF officials in a flag meeting held on July 15 had told the rangers that the habitation was blocking their vision, resulting in suspicion.
