Pak observes Jinnah's 130th birth anniversary

Special prayers were offered at various mosques across the country for the soul of the Quaid-i-Azam.

Pakistan is observing the 130th birth anniversary of its founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Monday with enthusiasm and national spirit.

Special prayers were offered at dawn at various mosques across the country for the soul of the Quaid-i-Azam. The national flag was unfurled at all government buildings throughout the country.

Special programmes are being broadcast throughout the day, including transmission of documentaries on the life of Jinnah.

Radio and TV channels will air special programmes to highlight the distinctive personality of Jinnah and the print media will publish special editions in this regard.

In Karachi, a change of guard ceremony will be held at the Mazar-e-Quaid in which a smartly turned out contingent of the gentlemen cadets from the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul will mount guard duties. Among the cadets participating in the drill is the country's first Sikh soldier and several female soldiers

Representatives of three armed forces will also visit Jinnah's mausoleum in Karachi to pay homage to the Father of the Nation, lay wreaths and offer Fateha.

In Balochistan, different educational, social, cultural and political organisations will organise various functions, seminars and declamation contests in all districts.
