"We have a Pakistani government that has said it wants to prosecute them through their own legal system... We should hold the Pakistani government to the promise and the detained persons should be put through the judicial system, and if found guilty, then they should be punished," Miliband said in Mumbai.

The UK Foreign Secretary, who was addressing a talk titled 'After Mumbai, beyond the war on terror' at Hotel Taj, one of the sites of the November 26 strikes, said the terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba needed to be tackled at its root.

"Policies need to be changed to tackle Lashkar-e-Taiba and the issue will be discussed with the Pakistani government tomorrow during my visit," Miliband said.

Pakistan-based LeT is alleged to have trained and sent the ten persons who carried out the attacks in locations across South Mumbai.
