Pakistan violates ceasefire again; 2 injured on LoC

A BSF jawan was injured in the firing by Pakistan troops along the LoC in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch district late on Monday night. The firing continued to till early Tuesday morning.

A BSF jawan was injured in the firing by Pakistan troops along the LoC in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch district late on Monday night. The firing continued to till early Tuesday morning.

BSF IG (Jammu frontier) constable Mohmmad Abu Siddiqi suffered a splinter injury on Monday night. He was operated and had resumed his duty.

The firing at forward posts along Line of Control started at about 11.30pm on Monday night and continued till early Tuesday morning as the BSF retaliated.

BSF jawans have been deployed at some posts along the LoC.

Pakistanis also fired in Mendhar sector of Poonch district, where a civilian, Mohammd Taj was injured on Monday night. Defence spokesman, SN Acharya said BSF troops guarding the forward belt gave a calibrated reply without any loss of life or injury.

There was intense firing at Digwar, about 4-km from Poonch town, thus creating panic among the civilians.

There have been over 90 ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops since January 1.
