Pal case: Four more turn hostile

THE TRIAL in the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case took a new turn when four more witnesses turned hostile. Two gunners of Pal, Nand Kishore and Amarnath and driver Mahendra Patel said before the court that the accused, SP MP Atique Ahmad and his brother Ashraf, an MLA, were not on the scene when Raju Pal was shot dead. Atique and Ashraf were present in court. Another witness Umesh Pal also turned hostile. Raju Pal?s wife Puja did not turn up before the court to give evidence, as according to an application, she was not well.

Another witness Umesh Pal also turned hostile. Raju Pal’s wife Puja did not turn up before the court to give evidence, as according to an application, she was not well. Additional sessions judge Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, while recording the evidence, fixed March 9 for the next hearing.To recall, Raju Pal and two others were shot dead on January 25, 2005 at Allahabad. Atique and Ashraf were named in the FIR.
