Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday hoped that Pakistan would play the role of an arbitrator in the Palestine solution, reports Online News Agency.

"Palestinians will never forget Pakistan's support for their just cause," he told reporters after separate meetings with President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here.
President Musharraf, he said, could play a very effective role in resolving the Palestinian issue as he is "an acknowledged world leader".
Abbas, who was here on a visit, said: "We greatly value President Musharraf's efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute."
Earlier, Musharraf said Pakistan would continue to extend its support for the cause of the Palestinian people on international forums.
He said: "We will provide the Palestinian people political support for dispute resolution."
He also said the solution of Palestine and Kashmir issues could bring an end to terrorism and extremism.
During the talks, Abbas briefed President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz about the Middle East peace process with special reference to developments with regard to new Israeli settlement on Palestinian lands.
