Amid tight security, Panchayat polls in Haryana have begun. Nearly 63.98 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise and on June 12 to elect sarpanches and panches in 13 districts.

Nearly 63.98 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise and on June 12 to elect sarpanches and panches in 13 districts.

Besides, 1,767 members of Panchayat Samitis and 244 of Zila Parishads will be elected during the exercise.

An official release said 15,579 aspirants out of 38,596 had been elected panches unanimously.

Similary, 134 out of 3,971 contestants had been elected sarpanches unanimously, the release said.
