"I myself personally or the Oversight Committee has at no point of time recommended or even suggested the postponement of the Bill," Committee Chairman Veerappa Moily said in a press release.

After the Committee's meeting on June 15, Moily had said that he had a discussion with HRD Minister Arjun Singh and hinted that the Ministry may postpone finalisation of the draft Bill till it submits its interim report by middle of next month.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, whose PMK party is a strong supporter of the 27 per cent OBC reservation in elite educational institutions, met Arjun Singh on Thursday.

There was no official word on what was discussed during the meeting but sources in the Health Ministry described it as a courtesy call by Ramadoss on Singh who was indisposed after his recent visit abroad.
