England's first Sikh cricketer, spinner Monty Panesar whose first Test wicket was none other than that of Sachin Tendulkar, his idol, said the team spirit helped him make such a good Test career beginning.

Panesar, 23, who claimed five wickets said, "I tried to keep it simple, just bowl and enjoy the moment against such great players. I got a lot of encouragement from the rest of the team, which helped to calm the nerves and that showed the togetherness we have as a team. We try to help each other on the field and it's nice to be part of that."
The left-armer said, "On your Test debut you always dream of taking a wicket, but I never dreamed it would be Sachin Tendulkar's. It was a special moment when he signed the ball for me."
