Additional paramilitary forces have been deployed for Thursday's byelection in Gohana with Jat leaders of Congress, INLD, HJC and BJP locked in a contest for the assembly seat that has witnessed caste clashes in the last two years.
One company each of the BSF and India Reserve Battalian besides five battalions of Haryana Armed Police are manning sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths in rural areas of the constituency, largely populated by the Jat and Valmiki communities.
Election Commission has declared 44 booths hypersensitive and these would be monitored by the BSF, officials said on Wednesday.
The district police has sealed the borders by setting up around 20 barriers deployed 4 DSPs and 4 police inspectors to keep a check on "criminals and anti-social elements" and put 20n mobile teams on patrol duty across the constituency, they said.
The said stern action will be taken against those indulging in booth capturing and violating EC norms.
The counting of votes will be done in Chaudhary Devi Lal Stadium on May 25.
