Paras and Shalini struck gold with an extremely elegant collection that is big on wearablity as well as fashion.

Muted shades of gold and bronze with extensive 'dabka' work created a subdued glamourous look - perfect for a formal do. Accessorised with stiletto pumps and headscarves made of tulle, the mood was sophisticated and glamorous.
"We used a variety of fabrics like khadi, lycra chemically treated fabric and silk velvet," Paras said. Fur stoles - "it was faux!" Shalini hastened to clarify - added to the elegant look.
The next segment of the duo's collection was more dramatic with black dominating the ramp. Multi-hued appliqué work in reds and yellows added an interesting contrast. Particularly nice were the cigarette pants worn with knee length kurtas and a delicate belt to offset the balance.
The third part of their line was a bit summery for a Fall-winter collection. Summery but very pretty and feminine. White cowl dresses with aqua appliqué work worn with tiny vintage bags. Crinkled shirts were contrasted with structured jackets - but followed the same colour scheme.
Again, layering was key in the collection. The ensemble with the ecrue bustier worn with a knee lenth chiffon skirt and silk slim pants was simply breathtaking.

NIFT graduates Paras Bairoliya and Shalini Jaikaria's collection, under the label Geisha Designs, was a visual delight. The colour palette varied from chocolate brown to black and bone-china white.
The western wear was inspired by different countries and cultures. There was fluidity in the garments. The ensembles were a mix of delicate skirts and feminine, long tunic like coats. The fabrics used were silk, velvet, jacquard, khadi, jerseys with lycra, stretch nets, printed leather and canvas.
