Varun Aggarwal is a stellar performer at an Ivy League college in the United States of America. Till a year ago, his fate hung in balance. Despite his consistent performance in school, his class 12 marks could make or break his future at his dream college.

However, his parents supported him through thick and thin, not flinching once through the months leading to his board exam.

“As our son was growing up, he had learnt from a very early age that high school was going to be very competitive. So for us, the month just before his class 12-board exams was not very tense. Yes, we felt nervous because marking in the CBSE exams can be unpredictable, but we had full faith in our son’s potential and we never let him know that we were tense,” said Neeti Aggarwal, whose son scored 96.2% in his class 12 board exams in 2011.

For some others, the months before the board exams were anxiously spent weighing alternate options.

Yet, the road did not end for Utsav. Today, he is a student at the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
