Since admissions in Delhi take place at a later stage, applications from the national capital are pouring in. There are more than 50 public schools in Noida, offering 10,000 nursery seats.

“Most schools have got several applications for one seat. Parents go for multiple options,” said Suneet Tandon of Rockwood School. Amity International in Noida says it gets 10 to 12 applications for one seat.

Many schools in Noida such as DPS, Apeejay and Cambridge have completed the process of registration and will soon come out with their lists. This will lead to parents’ “interactions” with school managements. DPS will inform parents about selected children through e-mails by September 20. Apeejay has also stopped registrations, but before releasing lists, it will meet students and parents on September 17 and 18.

But perennial problems persist. “Actual admissions will take place in October. Despite court orders banning interviews, nothing has changed. Only interactions have replaced interviews,” said Anup Khanna, who represents a local guardians’ body.
