The gang led by Param Parihar has now reached Bhind where his brother Jagjeevan Parihar has been hiding ever since he killed three persons in Chaurela village in Etawah.

However, the police version about the escape of six persons from the captivity of Parihar gang is hardly acceptable. The reason: One of the released persons had reportedly assured Parihar of giving lakhs of rupees as ransom. He had not only promised to pay the ransom for his release but also for the safe release of his abducted son.

Others were freed by Param Parihar as most of them were either to old and weak to work with Jagjeevan’s gang in the ravines. He took four of the ten abducted persons to the ravines in Bhind where Jagjeevan Parihar has taken shelter.

Interestingly, immediately after getting the information that six persons had reached Nayagaon police station in Madhya Pradesh, they police announced that they had fled from the captivity of dacoits who fell asleep.

A highly placed contracted the police theory saying why should dacoits, after making efforts to kidnap ten persons, go to sleep? “Those who have reached their homes were either physically week or they had begged their release by giving ransom to dacoits,” sources said.

In Etawah, only one person, Vaibhav Ranjan Dubey, is in the captivity of the dacoits.

Sources said the four persons, who were abducted from Jalaun district on April 23 by Jagjeevan’s gang, are in all likelihood working as servants for the gang.

The dacoits require the services of young and energetic people. The four persons who are now in the captivity of the gang are Veer Singh (25), Shiv Shankar (17), Jodha Singh (18) and Munna Singh (20).

Incidentally, Jagjeevan Parihar is fond of keeping Thakurs as his servants in his gang. In the aftermath of the kidnapping incident on April 23, the SHO of Rampura was suspended. Besides, several other transfers in Madhavgarh circle is on the anvil. Although police are combing the ravines of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh border, they appeared clueless about the whereabouts of dacoits.
