A 250-strong mob attacked the CPI-M headquarters here Sunday, injuring 10 Left activists and eight policemen.

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the proceedings till 1.15 p.m. after the opposition MPs, mainly BJP members, ran to the well and disrupted congress leader Madhusudan Mistry's speech over the attack.

Condemning the MPs' attitude, Chatterjee said he was ready to give opportunities to everybody but the MPs were not allowing a speaker to complete his speech.

The CPI-M's Mohammed Salim raised the issue of the attack and alleged that BJP MPs led a march to the party office and indulged in violence without any provocation.

BJP deputy leader V.K. Malhotra attacked the Congress for what he called coming under the CPI-M's pressure.

Mistry also alleged that the BJP leaders were protecting the culprit.

In the Rajya Sabha, the house was adjourned till 12.45 pm after MPs disrupted proceedings over the same issue.
