THE PARLIAMENT installation ceremony of St. Joseph’s Convent, Idgah Hills took place on April 22, amidst an atmosphere of solemnity.
The ceremony is held to initiate spirit of democracy in the school. The principal is the president of the school parliament and speaker and opposition leader belong to members of the staff.
The ceremony began with floral welcome. A special prayer service was held, which included hymns and devotional dance. The principal said student leaders were special symbols of God’s grace. She quoted John Maxwell and said education at St Joseph’s is a team effort. “Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success,” she said. She gave tips on how to form a dream team in which no problem is impossible to overcome.
The principal also blessed the children and said she hoped they would play St Joseph’s Orchestra to create exquisite symphonies of life.
The oath-taking ceremony began with depiction of five ministers holding portfolios of education, culture, discipline, sports and traffic, health and finance. The ministers offered flowers praying for God’s blessings to be able to implement the maxim ‘Together we can do the impossible.’

{{/usCountry}}The chief guest said it was his privilege to be part of the ceremony. He said the world has changed today with promotion of information technology, but children should also take interest in art, music and nature.
He congratulated the principal, staff and students for such a well-organised programme. The prime minister Arshi Parashar presented the vote of thanks. The programme ended with singing of National Anthem.
