"It was great to open the innings and this series has boosted my confidence to new levels," Patel, who slammed a fine 69 in the Rawalpindi Test, told mediapersons at the Sardar Patel International Airport.

The city lad, who arrived from New Delhi this morning, was given a rousing reception at the airport with Gujarat Cricket Association president Narhari Amin and secretary Vikram Patel garlanding him amidst cheers from his friends and family members.

"It is great feeling to have won both Test and one-day series against Pakistan", the baby-faced wicketkeeper said.

The Gujarat Cricket Association has organised a special programme on April 21 to felicitate Patel and teenage pace sensation from Vadodara Irfan Pathan who shone with the ball throughout the series.
