Commuters travelling between Gurgaon and Palwal will be able to escape the busy traffic of the city roads by using the bypass route, KMP Expressway, which is expected to open partially from September 1.
According to the concessionaire company, the motorists would have a direct connectivity between the two places through National Highway 8 with the opening of the 53-km stretch of the 135-km Expressway.
The motorists may not have to pay the toll charges for sometime as the route would still not be ready for toll collection.
The KMP Expressway, which is aimed at easing traffic pressure on Delhi roads by providing direct access to vehicles from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan without crossing Delhi, is already delayed for about two years as it was initially scheduled to open in 2009.
Though there is no information on the completion time of the rest of the stretch, the spokesperson of KMP Expressways Limited said that all the pending approvals have been cleared from the concerned authorities.
“These pending approvals included relocation of high tension overhead transmission lines, permission for crossing of existing pipelines, clearances related to change of scope and acquisition and handing over of additional land required for this stretch. As most of these issues have now been dealt with and clearances have been given by the concerned authorities, we are aiming to complete this stretch by August end,” the spokesperson said.

{{/usCountry}}The partial opening of the 53-km stretch between Manesar (Gurgaon) and Palwal (Faridabad) was scheduled to open by May 31 but the date was extended for three more months by the state government.
Rajiv Arora, the managing director of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (HSIIDC), said that it was still to be seen whether KMPL has kept its promise of completing the Manesar-Palwal stretch in time by August 31.
“If the stretch is ready it would just be made motorable for the traffic between Manesar and Palwal as the company is yet to achieve commercial operation date (COD) and would not be in a position to charge toll from the commuters. However, it would be in the interest of the company to achieve the COD fast and start charging toll for this limited stretch,” Arora said.
