Next time when you throw a party, how about treating your guests with an organic fare? This way you won’t just indulge in some healthy food but also help a cause. And for this, Kriti Team, a decade old NGO-run mobile Eco Café, offers catering and home delivery services.
For a full-fledged party menu and for the beginners, they have organic juices, squashes, a variety of breads, cakes, sandwiches, pasta and salads.
Aanchal Kapur, founder, Kriti Team, says, “The idea originated early this year, when over the time we saw that whenever there’s an event, the food served is oily, unhealthy and expensive. So we started the mobile café which serves organic food that’s healthy and inexpensive. Also, it’s a way of supporting poor families.”
The NGO procures its raw organic material from various sources since all sorts of spices and cereals are not readily available at one place. These include, basil, thyme, wheat flour, sooji, pulses, vegetables and fruits, teas, etc. “We also sell plants of organically produced herbs like parsley, oregano, peppermint, lemon black salt,” Kapur adds.
Though Kriti has catered at the American Center, India Habitat Center, and Red Earth, for parties, Kapur urges to say in advance. “We request to place an order for a 100 plus people party at least 15 days in advance. We always buy the raw ingredients accordingly.” Kapur informs that the café also works in a system whereby people can pay what they want to eat, besides the usual orders from parties. “We are self sufficient, and carry everything with us. The only logistics we require are heating and washing facilities at the venue.”Kriti also delivers cakes and prickles.
