A Dubai-bound passenger is arrested at the airport in Chennai for carrying syringes filled with some suspicious liquid, police said.

A Dubai-bound passenger was arrested at the airport in Chennai on Wednesday for carrying syringes filled with some suspicious liquid, police said.

Nineteen syringes, concealed in a one kg pickle bottle, were seized from Sheikh Qadir (32) of Cuddapah, Andhra Pradesh, they said.

Officials were testing the liquid to check whether it was some kind of narcotic substance.

The arrested person was to board a Kuwait Airways flight to Dubai, they added.
