A trained mountaineer from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports in Manali, Prakash scaled Mount Everest on November 6.

He started his expedition from the base camp of Amdablam in Nepal on November 2 along with fellow foreign mountaineers.

Speaking from his residence in Gurgaon's police line, he said, "I was always into sports and wanted to achieve a great feat like this."

He is now hoping to grow professionally too. "I wish I am given a promotion after this achievement," he said.

According to him, it was his children who pushed him into doing something extraordinary like this. Prakash is the father of two sons and his wife is a head constable in Haryana police. His brother Jasmer Singh, a sub-inspector in the state police, said his family feels 'on top of the world' after his success.
