In a shocking case, a patient admitted to Balrampur hospital was raped twice the wee hours of morning.
Reeta, (named changed), a resident of Sitapur district was admitted to the hospital inside a secluded ward. The lady was admitted for the treatment of ovarian tumour and was accompanied by her husband Shambhu and brother-in-law Ram Gopal.
Late in the night, a para-medical staff member Ajeet Valmiki came inside the ward and asked the male attendants including the husband of the patient to move out of the female block.
In fact, the man criticized the husband and brother-in-law of the woman for ogling at female patients.
Ajeet then told Reeta that the glucose bottle, which was being administered, needed to be replaced and that she should accompany him to a nearby room for this purpose. The room to which the patient was taken was a storeroom. On the way, Ajeet caressed her to show his sympathy.
In the storeroom, he misbehaved with her and when forced himself on her. The patient then raised an alarm and her husband along with the hospital staff nabbed Ajeet.
However, the man has been handed over to the state police.
