Security personnel probing Patna serial blasts on Tuesday picked up Arshad Alam, 24, from Alaula village under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran district, 180km north-west of the state capital.

If sources are to be believed,Alam had links with the blasts in which six persons were killed and 90 injured in Patna during Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi's rally on Sunday last.

Police said Arshad was picked up on the basis of inputs provided by Mohd Imtiaz Ansari, one of the suspected Indian Mujahideen operatives.

The security personnel took Arshad, who runs a coaching centre at Ranchi, to Patna for further interrogation.

Arshad had moved to his native village in Bihar a day after the blasts.

He reportedly had close links with Ansari.
