Soon, you can get rid of standing in long queues to pay your electricity bills. The power department has decided to introduce online bill payment facility for its consumers from next month.
Now consumers will be able to pay their electricity bills through credit card, debit card or internet banking. The online facility will be available for the consumers across the state.
"Online billing facility will start by August 4. The service will provide comfort to thousand of consumers across the district," said CL Gupta, superintending engineer of Noida electricity department.
Earlier, consumers were restricted to submit their bills at local billing station, which causes long queues during weekends. Sometimes consumers failed to make payments due to rush on the last date.
The facility will be available for the consumers across the state, Gupta said adding that the service will have a special feature to resolve consumers' complains more efficiently. Besides, consumers can get copies of their previous bills any time.
