With less than a fortnight to go for the first India-Pakistan Test match at Mohali, confusion prevailed over the promised sale of 7,500 tickets for the match to Pakistani fans as Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday clarified that it has not yet received the tickets from BCCI.
PCB's media advisor Abbas Zaidi on Thursday said that in view of the confusion and delay, his board first plans to sell the tickets for Mohali Test match beginning on March 8 and the tickets for the rest of the matches later.
"We have been promised the tickets by BCCI and we hope to get them in the next few days and then only we can start the sale," Zaidi said from Lahore.
He said the BCCI had promised to send 7,500 tickets to PCB for the Mohali Test alone as Chandigarh is close to Wagah border point from where a large number of Pakistani cricket fans were expected to witness the match.
In all the PCB hopes to get 10,000 tickets for the three Tests and six One-Day Internationals.
Interestingly a piquant situation prevailed as the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has opened its cricket visa counters and a visa camp in Lahore but there were no sign of tickets yet.
