In a statement issued here on Monday, mahasabha president Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal said that PDP had lost its relevance and its leaders were power hungry. He said that PDP was not only anti-youth but was also against the backward communities of the state including Gujjars and Bakkerwals.

"It was the PDP which brought SRO 294, which was against the interests of Gujjars and Bakkerwals," he said. Pointing out that PDP patron and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed the other day compared his party with the Aaam Admi Party, Poswal said that Mufti should tell how many young aam aadmis were there in the PDP.

He said that the response of Mufti was very discouraging when he called on him on Monday to highlight the problems of Gujjars and Bakkerwals.

"I called on him to highlight problems of the nomad communities and wanted to know his party's policy regarding these problems. But unfortunately, the party has no policy for these communities," he said. Poswal claimed that Mufti wanted 40 assembly seats to solve the problems of the state.
