"I have credible reports that the ruling NC has started transporting a large number of bogus voters to Srinagar to rig the elections," Ansari told reporters at his residence at Qamarwari in Srinagar.

Ansari is pitted against estranged friend and NC president Farooq Abdullah.
He alleged that the bogus voters were lodged chiefly in Rajbagh, Bemina and Miskeen Bagh in the city.

"Transporting such a large number of bogus voters to Srinagar is sufficiently indicative of the designs of the state government," the senior vice president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said.

Ansari said that he has sent a letter to the chief election commissioner and sought his 'immediate and urgent' intervention in the matter.

Earlier, similar allegations were made by Awami National Conference (ANC) leader Muzaffar Shah at a press conference.
