People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday criticised chief minister Omar Abdullah for giving up his family's traditional seat of Ganderbal and "running away" to Beerwah in central Kashmir.

"Did you not see where the CM ran away for fighting elections?" she asked her workers. "Which CM after getting a term of six years would run away like this? It is because he has nothing to show the people in his constituency. He did nothing for them."
Mehboob said that Ganderbal was not an Abdullah bastion, but the seat was vacated by the Congress for the NC founder Sheikh Abdullah in 1973.
