People want Gandhi’s Gujarat: Pawar

Targeting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, NCP president Sharad Pawar on Sunday said people of Maharashtra want Gandhiji’s and not Modi’s Gujarat.

“In a recent meeting in the state, Modi said he wants to make Maharashtra on the lines of Gujarat. We don’t want such a Maharashtra,” Pawar said at a public meeting in Nashik on Sunday night.

“Blood flowed in Ahmedabad during the communal riots there,” Pawar said.

Earlier in the day, while addressing a closed-door session of NCP functionaries, Pawar in a veiled attack on RSS said, “Just by wearing half-shorts and brandishing sticks, no one becomes a patriot.”
