Throwing all norms to the winds, he deploys his ‘trusted shooters’, armed with state-of-the-art firearms, around his barrack in the jail.

On Sunday, Ansari, who was sent here from the Ghazipur district jail following a court order, arrived at the Lucknow district jail with absolute preparedness— goons, guns and luxury vehicles in place.

A jail official on condition of anonymity revealed that three of his armed henchmen were given entry into the jail late on Sunday evening itself. The trio reached straight to the quarantine barrack where the don is staying. As the don went to sleep, the armed men took positions — two of them at the terrace, another on patrol duty. These armed men were asked to go out only after Ansari woke up for morning prayers (namaz) around 5 am..

These ‘guards’ known by the name Ehsan Terha, Guddu, Laeeq, Mufeed, Pintu Sahu, Qamar Ansari and Sagar Tomar, all spending time in jail here on various charges of heinous crimes including murder, frisked all the visitors coming to meet Ansari and kept a close watch on others’ activities. They did not allow any of the jail wardens to breach the cordon.

Also, there were more armed people outside the jail occupying three vehicles the whole Sunday night. Sources revealed that the don had even tighter security when he was staying at the Ghazipur jail.
