Dr Tulsi, Chief Executive Officer of Changemakers, observed initial structure of a personality began in the embryonic stage. “If pregnant mothers do not have proper nourishment, damage to the foetus’ brain starts in womb,” he said.Though heredity factor as a component affecting personality had already been established, a new theory of ancestral syndrome had also evolved as a factor in the psychological development of a personality, he said. Presiding, faculty member at the BHU’s Psychology Department, Dr Reeta Kumar pointed out a personality was an integral part of human psychology. “Our personality is a continuous process of change along with a change in the circumstances.
Since everyone of us have capacity, we can improve our personality by recognising our own strengths and weaknesses,” she said.
“We must also recognise what extraordinary capacity we have. For this purpose, goals must be determined in the light of social situation, context as well as personal limitations,” she said adding a positive outlook about ourselves was required.
