PETA flays Paris for dumping pooch

Paris Hilton dumped her "over-grown" dog Tinkerbell for a smaller pup called Bambi.

Animal rights group PETA has severely criticised socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton for apparently dumping her pampered dog Tinkerbell, because she grew too big.

Tinkerbell had reportedly grown beyond her ideal weight of 3.5 pounds (1.6 kilograms). Hence, Hilton now has left Tinkerbell and opted for a smaller dog named Bambi.

Hilton's alleged actions have, however, enraged the People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, who feel that Hilton should also carry a heart as big as her pocket.

"It's a pity that Paris' heart doesn't match her pocketbook. Animals shouldn't be disposed of like last season's trendy handbag," Femalefirst quoted an animal activist as saying.
