Troubled rocker Pete Doherty is trying to revive his flagging career by performing at a prison.

Doherty wants to perform at London's Pentonville Prison in an effort to copy the late country legend Johnny Cash's revolutionary performance at Folsom Prison, which turned into hit albums in the 1960s, Contactmusic reported.

Doherty was spared jail recently after admitting to possessing crack, heroin and marijuana. He had earlier spent some time at Pentonville prison for drug, robbery and blackmail charges.
