Some senior doctors are supporting the resident doctors. They joined protests after working hours. The nursing and lab technicians’ association has already extended support to the striking doctors. However, some pro-reservation junior doctors did their duty during OPD hours.

These doctors have formed a separate group and are working as per the duty roster in the OPD and the wards, along with senior faculty members.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association has urged the government to intervene in the matter.

IMA (Lucknow chapter) joint secretary Dr PK Gupta met junior doctors and senior faculty members to find a solution. He urged the striking doctors to reconsider their decision to continue the strike in light of the patients’ incomvenience.

Deadline expires
The 24-hour deadline set for the doctors expired on Wednesday evening. Notices may be served on the resident doctors on Thursday.
