The army has been called in for rescue operations. At least 100 people have been rescued so far, reports say. The Jodhpur and Jaisalmer highway is also blocked due to the rains.
Worst affected village is Lati near Pokhran, which is completely inundated under 10 feet water. More than 300 people have been evacuated and 70 houses have been washed away, reports say.
This change in weather is mainly due to Cyclone Phet, which created a havoc on the Pakistan coast on Friday.
